Department of Anesthesiology is running seven operation theaters round the clock providing anesthesia services for all types of surgeries including laparoscopic surgeries, neurosurgery, thoracic surgery etc. Operation theaters are well equipped with modern anesthesia machines and multi parameter monitors. Pain clinic is also being run on regular basis.

CMH Multan has a well-established ENT Department geared to cater for diagnosis and management of whole range of ENT disorders. Beside routine surgeries, Head and Neck cancer salvage surgeries are also performed independently or in consultation with thoracic and plastic surgeons. Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) and video assisted nasal surgeries are done with good results.
Audio-logical facilities range from latest audiogram, tympanogram and Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometer (BERA). Middle ear reconstructive surgeries like stapedectomy, myringoplasty and ossiculoplasty are also performed routinely.

Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of CMH Multan is one of the oldest departments of CMH and is providing medical and surgical services to the people of southern Punjab for several years.

Complete maternity services are provided to cater for approximately 4000 deliveries per year. Gynecology services are run at both preventive and therapeutic levels. In addition to conventional surgeries, facilities for minimally invasive surgery are also available.

The Department of Medicine at CMH Multan has a long history of being manned by eminent physicians of significant repute in the country and abroad. It is a pivotal department which carries the load of large number of patients from Southern Punjab.

The department manages a 10 bed Intensive Care Unit/ Coronary Care Unit (ICU/ CCU) in addition to 190 General Medical beds/Heavy Dependency Unit in four medical wards for males and females.

The Medical Department coordinates the inpatient medical ward activities as well as outpatient consultation services. It provides specialized treatment in cases of infectious diseases, nutrition and general internal medicine, endocrinology, rheumatology etc. In-hospital consultation services are provided to allied departments like Surgery and Obs/Gyne both in ambulatory and inpatient settings.

DEPARTMENT OF CARDIOLOGY

The Cardiology department provides complete and comprehensive care to patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases. The Section utilizes a well developed Coronary Care Unit (CCU) for patients requiring intensive care and a Step-Down Unit (HNC) designed for cardiac patients requiring an intermediate level of care.
Diagnostic services like Trans-thoracic 2-D echocardiography and exercise tolerance testing (ETT) are available. Implantation of temporary cardiac pacemaker in emergency is possible in department.
PULMONARY MEDICINE

This service manages patients with asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, restrictive lung disease, pulmonary embolism, pulmonary tuberculosis and other infections, pleural effusion and other diseases of the chest.
Diagnostic services include pulmonary function testing (PFT), fibreoptic bronchoscopy, and High resolution CT scanning of Chest. Intensive care management, of patients requiring ventilation is done by this service.
The section caters for a large number of patients presenting to the outpatient clinics and emergency rooms. The section provides diagnostic and therapeutic procedures which include esophago-gastro-duodenoscopy, endoscopic variceal sclerotherapy, endoscopic band ligation, colonoscopy and polypectomies etc.

The Section of Neurology offers comprehensive specialty consultation in both outpatient and inpatient settings for management of congenital and acquired diseases of central and peripheral nervous system disorders. Hospital has facility of CT Scan & MRI Scan as well as electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction studies (NCS) and electroencephalography (EEG).

This service caters to a large number of patients of acute and chronic kidney diseases, and is responsible for care of all patients in both inpatient and outpatient setting.
The hospital has facilities for diagnostic renal biopsy peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis. Hemodialysis is also available as outdoor services at a well equipped Hemodialysis Centre comprising of 8 hemodialysis machines.

Pediatrics Department of CMH Multan is a tertiary care facility which comprises of ten bed pediatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and a 40 bed general ward. The department has a state of the art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with facility to ventilate newborns.

Eye department of CMH Multan is a well-equipped, technologically advanced tertiary care facility committed to provide ophthalmic care to people of South Punjab.
Basic and clinical knowledge of ophthalmology will be imparted to medical students in a step ladder fashion commencing with Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology and history taking in third year of MBBS. In fourth year the students will move on to learn clinical examination in relation to common ophthalmic ailments.
The department is well equipped with audiovisual and teaching aids to deliver lectures, tutorials, and demonstrations. Live surgeries will also be shown for maximum learning.

Department of Psychiatry CMH Multan is a 22-bed psychiatric and addiction treatment facility. The Surgical division of CMH Multan is an advanced 200 bed unit of hospital. It constitutes department of General Surgery, Urology, Pediatric Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, and Orthopedics, each headed by experienced specialists.
The surgical work load comprises of an outpatient attendance of approximately 50000 patients per year including approx. 4500 major surgeries and approx. 7000 minor procedures of per year. State of art procedures like advanced orthopedics, reconstructive surgery, video assisted thoracic surgeries, minimally invasive procedures like arthroscopy, laparoscopic surgeries and endo-urology etc are being carried out routinely.

ORTHOPAEDICS

The Department of Orthopedics CMH Multan provides state-of-the-art care to patients of all age groups.
The average outdoor work load is about 12000 patients per annum whereas the indoor cases are more than 2000 per year. Approximately 960 major and 1500 day care surgeries are carried out annually. The available clinical expertise combined with cutting-edge state of the art equipment and technology available, enables this unit to extent excellent services to its dependent clientele for a wide range of orthopedic disorders and injuries. The center is busy round the clock in performing advanced orthopedic procedures like trauma surgery, deformity corrections and reconstructions, minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis, anatomically contoured locked compression plate fixations, interlocking nailing, arthoplasties, diagnostic and therapeutic arthroscopies and pediatric orthopedics etc. The orthopedic department in addition is also actively engaged in CME activities and training of junior internees, house surgeons, FCPS trainees and paramedics.
The department aims to extend excellent services to its patients so as to help them heal through effective and timely surgery, responsible medication, synchronized rehabilitation, and or a combination of these therapeutic modalities.
PAEDIATRIC SURGERY

Facilities are available to deal with all sorts of congenital abnormalities, pediatric trauma, and Pediatric neoplasms. FCPS Part II trainees come on rotational training regularly to this department.
